O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is a non-profit, multidisciplinary and research-oriented university established in 2009. Founded as a philanthropic initiative by its Founding Chancellor, Mr. Naveen Jindal, JGU was established in memory of his father, Mr. O.P. Jindal.

Located on a fully residential campus, JGU is home to more than 16,000 students, over 1,100 full-time faculty members and 4,000+ academic and administrative staff. The University comprises 12 schools spanning disciplines such as Law, Business and Management, International Affairs, Public Policy, Liberal Arts and Humanities, Journalism, Design and Architecture, Banking and Finance, Environment and Sustainability, Psychology and Counselling, Languages and Literature, and Public Health and Human Development.

JGU has established itself as a truly global university, with faculty members from more than 50 countries and students from over 160 countries. Its extensive international network includes collaborations with more than 620 leading institutions across 80+ countries, offering students a diverse and globally oriented academic experience.

The University has earned significant recognition in leading global rankings. JGU was ranked No. 1 globally with the highest overall score and awarded a ‘Gold’ rating in the Times Higher Education (THE) Online Learning Rankings 2024. It was also recognised as India’s No. 1 private university for three consecutive years in the QS World University Rankings 2023 and placed among the top 150 universities globally under 50 years of age in the QS Young University Rankings. JGU has additionally been ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022.

The Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) has retained its position as India’s No. 1 law school for seven consecutive years and was ranked among the top 35 institutions globally for Law in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026. JGU was also ranked No. 1 in India for Politics and International Studies, placing it among the top 90 universities globally in the discipline.

According to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, JGU is India’s leading private university in Business and Management Studies, ranked among the top 200 globally. It is also ranked among the top 232 universities worldwide for Social Sciences and Management, the top 323 for Arts and Humanities, and the top 500 for Economics and Econometrics.

In the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2026, JGU was ranked No. 1 in India for Law and No. 2 in India for Psychology. In 2025, the Jindal Global Business School (JGBS) received the prestigious AACSB International Accreditation, an achievement attained by only around 6% of business schools worldwide.

Further underscoring its academic standing, JGU was recognised as an ‘Institution of Eminence’ by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in 2020.
