Imagine standing at the crossroads of three influential disciplines—Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE)—each shaping societies, policies, and economies in visible and invisible ways. Have you ever wondered what happens when you gain the ability to understand how policies are crafted, how economies evolve, and how values and ideas shape human progress?
At O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), this vision comes to life through the transformative B.A. (Hons.) in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE), a unique interdisciplinary programme jointly offered by the Jindal School of Government & Public Policy (JSGP)and the Jindal School of Liberal Arts & Humanities (JSLH). More than just a degree, PPE offers an intellectual journey that equips students to critically decode the complexities of the modern world.
Whether you are intrigued by the ethical foundations of politics, the interplay between economic systems and governance, or the philosophical dimensions of development, this programme provides the analytical tools, ethical grounding, and critical thinking skills needed to navigate these intersections with confidence.
With a curriculum that goes far beyond the conventional B.A. Philosophy syllabus, the PPE programme prepares students to become thoughtful leaders and change-makers in fields such as government, academia, business, international organisations, and civil society. For those aspiring to shape public discourse and influence policy, this is the ideal platform to begin that journey.
The PPE Courseat JSGP is crafted to help students engage with philosophical frameworks, understand economics and politics, and decode political and economic institutions. It is where theory meets application and abstract thought meets pragmatic action.
The programme matches rigorous academics with field exposure, making it ideal for students interested in Philosophy, Politics and Economics as a multidimensional approach to global challenges.
Students of the PPE Courseare encouraged to look beyond the classroom and apply their knowledge to real-world problems. This includes:
One of the key strengths of the PPE programme at JSGP and JSLH is its focus on the deep connection between philosophy and education. Students learn how values, beliefs, and ethical frameworks shape not only education policies but also broader social progress.
Here, philosophy is more than theory; it becomes a practical tool to influence how societies think, learn, and develop, while also shaping careers in political science and public leadership. This focus on values and critical inquiry is especially vital in today’s rapidly changing world.
PPE course integrates the BA philosophy syllabus with traditional subjects such as:
Along with applied courses in:
This approach ensures that students of the PPE Course are equipped to tackle real issues in economics and politics while maintaining a strong philosophical foundation.
Graduates of the Philosophy, Politics and Economics programme at JSGP go on to make real-world impact. They are well prepared for diverse careers in political science, economic strategy, and policy design.
Many students pursue advanced degrees in political science, public policy, and economics. For those interested in the philosophy and education relationship, opportunities in academia and educational reform are also strong career options.
At JGU, the B.A. (Hons.) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) is crafted for students driven by curiosity, purpose, and a desire to understand the forces that shape societies.
By exploring the foundations of philosophy, examining political systems, and analysing economic structures, students gain more than just interdisciplinary knowledge — they develop a comprehensive worldview essential for leadership in politics, public policy, research, advocacy, and beyond.
In a world that demands both thoughtful reflection and decisive action, the PPE programme at JSGP offers not merely a degree, but a path towards meaningful impact.
