A pioneering four-year undergraduate degree meant to provide profound knowledge of diplomatic procedures, negotiation techniques, and foreign policymaking, the BA Diplomacy & Foreign Policy course at JSIA is acknowledged among the most comprehensive foreign policy courses in India. JSIA believes that a modern education in international affairs must go beyond textbooks. Students participate in simulations, fieldwork, internships, policy labs, and real-time conflict studies. These help bridge the gap between academic learning and on-ground realities, whether analysing geopolitical shifts, participating in UN role-plays, or drafting position papers.
Through project-based learning, students develop capabilities in negotiation, cross-cultural communication, policy drafting, and crisis response—skills that are increasingly sought after by international employers and institutions.
JSIA’s strong global and domestic network of faculty members, visiting scholars, and distinguished alumni ensures students are constantly mentored by professionals from diverse fields—ranging from foreign diplomacy to political think tanks and global non-profits.
Regular guest lectures, conferences, workshops, and policy debates bring students face-to-face with ambassadors, civil servants, UN officials, media personalities, and academics from around the world. JSIA alumni are currently working in embassies, NGOs, multinational firms, international courts, and higher education institutions worldwide.
At JSIA, student life thrives beyond academic spaces. With international festivals, debate forums, policy hackathons, and student-led publications, the school encourages active and engaged citizenship.
